LAGOS COMMISSIONER, OGUNLENDE SECURES NFL RECRUITMENT FOR LAGOS YOUTHS, OTHERS
In January 2024, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, received an American NFL contingent to Lagos State and showcased the state’s sports facilities through a strategic tour. This visit laid the foundation for a collaborative effort to enhance the prospects of young athletes in Lagos. On Monday 17th June 2024, the Commissioner announced via his social media handles that over 5 intense days, the NFL team has conducted an extensive recruitment process, identifying and selecting talented players from Lagos and twelve other countries across Africa. The recruitment draft has now been finalised, with eight players selected, two from Lagos and six from other African countries. Yesterday, Tuesday 18th June 2024, Hon. Ogunlende presented the NFL contingent to Mr Governor at the state house in Marina. By partnering with the NFL, the state aims to provide its youth with platforms to showcase their talents and secure opportunities on a global stage
