Child Defilement:IPO Testifies Against Medical Doctor in court

  At the sexual offences court in Ikeja at the  continuation of trial of the medical doctor of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, Dr. Olufemi Olaleye, an Investigative Police Officer, IPO, Inspector Abe Leonard has testified as the sixth prosecution witness in the alleged defilement trial,while the court also admitted documents from him to support his testimony  Giving evidence before Justice Ramon Oshodi of a Lagos State Sexual Offences Court, Ikeja, on Thursday, Insp Leonard informed  the court that he is serving at Anthony Police Station while being led in evidence by the State Counsel, Mr. Babajide Boye. In his testimony, the witness informed Justice Oshodi that the victim was 17 years old at the time the case was reported by the wife of the defendant, Mrs Aderemi Olaleye. ValueJet to expand operations, acquire more CRJ aircraft

  Nigerian start-up airline, ValueJet has concluded plans to begin flight services to Jos, even as the carrier is keeping an eye on some other routes it plans to service. The carrier has also unveiled its expansions plans that would see it spread its wings to other key destinations.  Consequently, ValueJet is working on how to cut down the cost of flight tickets without compromising safety, just as it is keeping an eye on Akure, Yola, Kano, and Gombe.  Those destinations, the airline said, are of great potential while maintaining and concentrating on its six stations Lagos, Abuja, Benin, Asaba, Port-Harcourt, and Jos with an On-time departure with above 95%.   Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the weekend busted a warehouse in Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos belonging to a tramadol cartel, arresting two of its kingpins, seizing millions of opioids pills and bottles worth over N5 billion. NGO Calls for Support of New Vehicle Insurance Cover, Insists Only Criteria for Payment of Indemnity

  A non governmental organisation, Transparent Protection Limited/Gte (TPL) has called on the public to support the recent hike in Motor Vehicle Third Party Insurance cover for motorists from ₦5,000 to ₦15,000, insisting that it remains the only criteria for insurance companies to pay indemnity to accident victims in the country. Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, the Director, Transparent Protection Ltd/Gte, Dr. Sam Onyeka said the recent decision by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) was in the best interest of all stakeholders, insisting that there was no way insurer would pay the required indemnity when the cost of insurance was as low as N5,000. Seizes 3,975kgs skunk, 58,200 tramadol pills in cross country interdictions Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted over 37.5 kilogrammes of illicit substances at airport and seaport in Lagos in the last one week. The anti-narcotics agency also arrested 11 suspects in interdiction operations across the country during which seizures of almost four tonnes of skunk were recorded in the same period.
