COSEG warns Gov. Abiodun against demolition of Sen. Daniel's properties

The Coalition of Oodua Self-Determination Groups (COSEG) has warned Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, against the planned demolition of properties belonging to former governor and current Ogun East Senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. In a strongly worded statement issued Tuesday in Abeokuta, COSEG described the move as “destructive politics, riddled with vendetta, hatred, and an attempt to cage the senator,” warning it could spark “unprecedented political upheaval” in the state. COSEG’s Coordinating Council Chairman, Comrade Ifedayo Ogunlana, alleged that the rift between the two political heavyweights stems from a power tussle over control of the APC structure ahead of the 2027 general elections. “Political disagreements between friends should not descend into using state power to trample on rights,” Ogunlana said. “We recall that in 2019, though in PDP, Senator Daniel openly backed Governor Abiodun against former governor Ibikunle Amosun.” The group faulted the state g...
