BREAKING: Sultan Declares Monday As Eid-El-Fitr

  The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Monday as the first day of Shawwal. The Sultan made the declaration after no positive sighting claims were received from members of the National moonsighting committee and other Emirates. “The Sultanate Council Sokoto, has declared Monday 2/5/2022 as the first day of Shuwal 1443 AH,” the Secretary of the National Moon Sighting Committee (NMSC), Mallam Yahaya Muhammad Boyi, said in a terse statement on Saturday night. Political leaders in Agege on Saturday purchased and unveiled nomination and expression of interest forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly. IGP Commends IRT For Apprehending Notorious Arms Dealers

  Operatives of the Force Intelligence Bureau Intelligence Response Team (FIB-IRT), in a sting operation, have arrested four notorious arm dealers and recovered 57 AK47 rifles and a large catchment of ammunition in Jos, Plateau State and from other locations across the country. This is in furtherance of the IGP’s recent charge to the men of the Nigeria Police Force to be dauntless in the fight against crimes and criminality in the country. The suspects, Hamza Zakari (aka Hamzo) aged 20yrs, Abubakar Muhammed (aka Fancy) aged 22yrs, Umar Ibrahim aged 25yrs and Muhammed Abdulkarim (aka Dan-Asabe) aged 37yrs, all males and residents of Jos, were arrested following a credible intelligence on their nefarious activities in Jos and its environs.   The Federal Government has declared Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd May, 2022 as Public Holidays to mark this year’s Workers Day and EIdul-Fitr Celebrations. FIRE GUTS SYNAGOGUE CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS (SCOAN) OLD SITE: WE ARE ON TOP OF THE SITUATION

  A mysterious fire has gutted the synagogue church of All Nations (SCOAN),old site on Agodo Area of Lagos state, barely ten months after the demise of its founder and pastor, Temitope Balogun known as Pastor TB Joshua.   The church has also responded that the situation has been put under control and no live was lost in  the inferno According to the Church "in the evening Wednesday, April 27, 2022, a fire outbreak occurred at the old site of the SCOAN, located at Agodo, Egbe; about two kilometers from SCOAN headquarters cathedral.   President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Jaji Olola Abdulganiyu as the Controller General Federal Fire Service. The appointment takes effect from Friday 22nd April, 2022. Until his appointment, Engr Abdulganiyu was the Deputy Comptroller General in charge of Administration and Supplies in the Federal Fire Service. A statement on Tuesday by the Secretary to the Civil Defence, Fire Immigration and Correctional Service Board, Hajia Aisha Rufai revealing the President’s decision, said Abdulganiyu commenced his career at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing as Higher Technical Officer in 1991. LAGOS PUBLIC, PRIVATE SCHOOLS RESUME FOR THIRD TERM ON MONDAY

  The Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance, an agency of the Ministry of Education, has announced that all Public and Private Schools in the State are to resume on Monday, 25th April, 2022, in line with the Harmonised Academic Calendar for the Y2021/2022 session. A statement signed by the Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEAQ), Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, said all Proprietors and Administrators are to ensure that all students resume on that date. The Director-General said that the Second Term Holiday, which started on Friday, 8th April, ended on Friday, 22nd April, 2022 as stated in the Y2021/2022 academic calendar, explaining that the public holidays within the term such as Workers Day, Eid- El-Fitr and Eid-El-Kabir were put into consideration and embedded in the calendar. The Alaafin of Oyo,in Oyo state Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has joined his ancestors at the ripe age of 83 years.  Information has it hat the prominent Monarch died in the early hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola university Teaching hospital Ado Ekiti,Ekiti state.  The late Alaafin mounted the throne of his forefathers in the early seventies,he left behind, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A formal announcement will be made by the Alaafin in council in conjunction with the state government,a source in Oyo mentioned.

APC To Sell Presidential Nomination Form At N100m,Fixes Presidential primary for 30 May

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at N100 million. The party’s national publicity secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this shortly after the 11th National Executive Meeting in Abuja on Wednesday. Morka equally disclosed that the primary election to elect the candidate of the party will hold on 30 of May.  According to Morka, the nomination form would go for N70 million while expression of interest forms would go for N30 million. Opposing an earlier announcement by the party’s national women leader, Betta Edu, that the women will get free forms, Morka said women are entitled to free nomination forms but will pay for their expression of interest forms.

  Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has launched the distribution of relief items to 100,000 residents in Maiduguri Metropolis and Jere Local Government Areas. Zulum performed the brief flag-off ceremony at the premises of the Borno State Mechanical Workshop in Maiduguri on Tuesday. The Governor made a symbolic presentation of bags of food items, wrappers, and cash to male and female households, each, with children and other family members that made up approximately 10 people. NDLEA intercepts Cocaine consignments at Port Harcourt, Abuja, Lagos airports, arrests 7 traffickers

  Desperate attempts by Brazil based drug cartels to smuggle large consignments of Cocaine into Nigeria through three major international airports in Port Harcourt, Abuja and Lagos have been foiled by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, who arrested seven traffickers. At the Port Harcourt International Airport, five suspects were arrested on Saturday 9th April. Three of them were arrested during the inward screening of passengers on board Qatar Airline flight QR1433 from Doha to Port Harcourt. The three suspects departed Sao Paulo, Brazil on board same Qatar flight, en-route Doha to Abuja and Port Harcourt with a total of 24.96 kilograms of cocaine.  The first is 51-year-old Udogwu James Johnson who hails from Orlu LGA, Imo state. He was arrested with 5.48kg of cocaine concealed in lotion plastic bottles sealed with candle wax.   Calls for immediate resolution of the National Question, release of political detainees LAGOS Nigeria risks a major explosion without a credible election that will urgently resolve the National Question and free indigenous territories from the grip of terrorist cells, Alliance for Yoruba Democratic Movements, (AYDM) has said.
