Maverick politician and former senator of the federal republic of Nigeria,Chief Arthur Francis Nzeribe is dead 


The Family Announcement 


“Umudei Royal Village of Oguta in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, in total submission to the will of God Almighty and in appreciation of a remarkably worthy life hereby announces the death of our Son, Cousin, Uncle, Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Distinguished Senator, Chief Francis Arthur Uzoma Nzeribe (Ogbuagu, Oshiji, Damarae Oyirrba of Oguta) on the 5th day of May 2022 at the age of 83.

While we are pained by this loss, we are proud of this African Legend who distinguished himself in various fields including sports, international business, and politics and gave the Nzeribe brand worldwide acclaim.

The family has immediately commenced the necessary traditional consultations and will in due course release a programme for funeral rites.

We appeal to the public to respect the privacy of the family and the solemnity of this event to enable us to grieve in peace."

LASTMA ARRAIGNS 12 OFFICERS BEFORE DISCIPLINARY PANEL FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES BOTHERING ON CORRUPT PRACTICES, ABSENTEEISM

  .........11 Officers indicted as panel final reports recommended dismissal, reduction in rank, compulsory retirement for Officers Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday,  arraigned 12 Officers before Disciplinary Panel for various Offenses bothering on corrupt practices and absenteeism in line with the extant rules as guided by the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Acting General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the disciplinary panel which was statutorily constituted with three (3) Permanent Secretaries in attendance adjudicated cases of corrupt practices levied against these 12 Officers and forwarded their recommendations to the State Civil Service Commission for ratification in line with the Public Service Rules. LASTMA GETS NEW GENERAL MANAGER.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). A statement by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation Mr. Olawale Musa noted that the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads. Bakare-Oki Olalekan joined the Lagos State Public Service on the April 25, 2000 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, before his new appointment as General Manager. He holds a Masters Degree in Transportation Planning and Management from University of Lagos and has attended several capacity-building programmes on inter-modal traffic management systems locally and internationally.
