EFCC Transfers Former Minister,Saleh Mamman to Correctional Centre

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to hand over the former Minister for Power, Saleh Mamman to the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Kuje, Abuja for the commencement of his 75 years prison term. The order for Mamman’s transfer to the Correctional centre, followed his presentation before Justice Omotosho on Tuesday by the EFCC and the filing of a Consequential Order by the Commission for the forfeiture of five new properties traced to the convict.    Prosecution counsel and Director, Public Prosecution of the Federation,  DPP, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN stated that the Consequential Order dated 25th May, 2026 was for  an order of the court for the forfeiture of the properties. . NUJ FCT, Police Pensions Partner to Combat Pension Misinformation

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council and Nigeria Police Pensions Limited have pledged stronger collaboration to improve public awareness on pension administration, promote transparency and tackle misinformation surrounding police pensions in the country. Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, Grace Ike, made this known during a courtesy visit by journalists to the headquarters of Nigeria Police Pensions Limited in Abuja. Grace Ike described the media as a critical institution for democracy, accountability and information dissemination, stressing that the engagement marked the beginning of a stronger working relationship between journalists and the pension organisation. “We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership because when journalists and pension administrators work together, we strengthen democracy, promote transparency and ensure that those who served our nation are cared for with dignity,” she said. Gbenga Hashim Declares for Presidency under Accord Party, Mobilises Over One Million Members

A former presidential candidate and 2027 presidential hopeful, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has formally confirmed his membership of the Accord Party and declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the party’s platform. Speaking with journalists in response to enquiries, Hashim disclosed that his political structure had already commenced extensive grassroots mobilisation within the party across the country. According to him, over one million supporters have so far been mobilised into the Accord Party as part of efforts to build a formidable political movement ahead of the 2027 general elections. “We have quietly mobilised about one million of our supporters into the Accord Party, and we are still doing so,” he stated.
