Ekiti Guber Polls: Olatuyi Assures Landslide Victory for APC

 


The need to firm up and generate foolproof strategies for the All Progressives Congress (APC), to win very convincingly in forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election, formed the fulcrum of the acceptance speech of newly elected Chairman, Governorship Election Committee for Ikole Local Government, Hon Ayodele Olatuyi.


According to Olatuyi, every machinery to win the coming election have been put in place by incumbent governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, to offer a easy ride to power for the APC governorship candidate,  Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji (BAO).


Speaking today at the APC Secretariat in ikole Ekiti, the former Ikole Local Council Chairman, Olatuyi, expressed confidence that a landslide victory for Oyebanji in Ikole council is sure, saying his committee would leave no stone unturned in tightening every loose ends to ensure overwhelming victory


The newly inaugurated committee members are: Hon Olatuyi (Fodio), Chairman, Hon. Muyiwa Olukosi, Secretary, as well as others to work at various sub-committees, such as: Contact and Mobilization, Security, Women, Youths & Students,  Finance, Media and Publicity  e.t.c. 


Members of the Central Committee, earlier set up by the State Working Committee of the party, were charged with the responsibility of ensuring landslide victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election slated for June 18, 2022 at the local council.


Addressing further, Olatuyi charged all members to go out across the shores of the Ikole Local Government to canvass for votes for party’s victory in the forthcoming election saying, “it is for the good of Ekiti people if APC win the election, for the sake of continuity that would boost developmental projects of government.


He noted that  various giant developmental interventions of the outgoing government at the Ikole Local council, made canvassing easy for the various committee members when relating with the electorates. 


Olatuyi said: "we can't continue with the tradition of winning with mere  500 votes in the Ikole Local Government. We are core progressives and must make further progress in the local government. We must forthwith intensify in the areas of town to town, street to street, farmsteads to farmsteads, door to door and one on one campaign, that will shore up votes on our side and make APC win very convincingly this time. This must start with immediate effect"


In same vein, thousands of BAO posters, donated by the commissioner for Finance Hon Akin Oyebode, were given out across the 12 Wards of Ikole Local Government for pasting.


The Ikole election committee Chairman admonished all committee members to be united, committed, sincere and focused in the task ahead.

LASTMA ARRAIGNS 12 OFFICERS BEFORE DISCIPLINARY PANEL FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES BOTHERING ON CORRUPT PRACTICES, ABSENTEEISM

  .........11 Officers indicted as panel final reports recommended dismissal, reduction in rank, compulsory retirement for Officers Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday,  arraigned 12 Officers before Disciplinary Panel for various Offenses bothering on corrupt practices and absenteeism in line with the extant rules as guided by the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Acting General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the disciplinary panel which was statutorily constituted with three (3) Permanent Secretaries in attendance adjudicated cases of corrupt practices levied against these 12 Officers and forwarded their recommendations to the State Civil Service Commission for ratification in line with the Public Service Rules. LASTMA GETS NEW GENERAL MANAGER.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). A statement by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation Mr. Olawale Musa noted that the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads. Bakare-Oki Olalekan joined the Lagos State Public Service on the April 25, 2000 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, before his new appointment as General Manager.
