RRS Gets Nomination as Best Special Security Squad Award

 


Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has been nominated as the Best Special Security Squad in West and Central Africa.


The squad was nominated by the Board of Trustees, Executive Committee and International Award's Panel of Judges of Africa Security Watch Award at a meeting held in Ghana in March, 2022.


The organiser in a letter jointly signed by Mr Patrick Agbambu, the award's International Coordinator/CEO, and Prof  Henri Fouche, it's Chair, International Awards Panel of Judges, the nomination was “anchored on your squad's operational dexterity, responsiveness, proactiveness and commitment to the protection  of lives and property in Lagos, which we found to be exemplary in West Africa".


The award ceremony is billed to take place at the Movenpick Grand Al Bustan, Dubai, United Arab Emirate between Ñovember 8th and 10th, 2022.

LASTMA ARRAIGNS 12 OFFICERS BEFORE DISCIPLINARY PANEL FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES BOTHERING ON CORRUPT PRACTICES, ABSENTEEISM

  .........11 Officers indicted as panel final reports recommended dismissal, reduction in rank, compulsory retirement for Officers Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday,  arraigned 12 Officers before Disciplinary Panel for various Offenses bothering on corrupt practices and absenteeism in line with the extant rules as guided by the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Acting General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the disciplinary panel which was statutorily constituted with three (3) Permanent Secretaries in attendance adjudicated cases of corrupt practices levied against these 12 Officers and forwarded their recommendations to the State Civil Service Commission for ratification in line with the Public Service Rules. LASTMA GETS NEW GENERAL MANAGER.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). A statement by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation Mr. Olawale Musa noted that the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads. Bakare-Oki Olalekan joined the Lagos State Public Service on the April 25, 2000 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, before his new appointment as General Manager.
