Diligence and Quality leadership identified and honoured by Law school,Classmates of Former Lagos speaker, Rt. Hon. Jokotola Abdulwaheed Pelumi:

 



In spite of the national retrogression in the value system and the world at large, the 1985 set of the Nigerian Law school have identified and honoured one of their own in the person of the former speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly,  Rt. Hon. Jokotola Abdulwaheed Pelumi.


The sir Adetokunbo Ademola Dining Hall of the Nigerian Law School,Victoria Island Lagos, on Tuesday 23rd August , turned into a carnival-like atmosphere, as the Class 85 of the Nigerian Law School gathered for a re-union which is part of the activities lined up for the annual NBA week celebrated by lawyers across the country .

The lawyers, as part of their annual event always identify with some of their classmates who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of specialisation by celebrating them during the law week.


Despite the drop in our value system ,Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi has been identified to have upheld high ethical standards in the law profession while displaying integrity and uprightness at all times. 

He was appreciated for his consistency in the politics of Lagos state as well as his commitment to good governance, especially his immeasurable contribution to lawmaking.


The amiable and affable lawyer dressed in his simple yet classy native attire was seen exchanging banters with his colleagues before the presentation of the plaque. 


After the presentation of the recognition award by the Director General of the Nigerian Law school, Prof. Hayatu Chiroma ,to the effervescent politician, Rt.Hon. Jokotola Pelumi thanked his classmates and those in the organising committee  for the honour bestowed upon  his and other classmates.

In his remarks, Pelumi expressed his joy at the award while stating that he was  humbled by the recognition and  promised not to rest on his oars  as he continues to contribute his quota to the development of the profession in Lagos state in particular and Nigeria at large. 


Rt. Hon.Pelumi equally used the occasion to rededicate himself  more to the legal profession,stressing that the profession remains a noble and respectable profession in Nigeria and the world.

The 1985 set of the Nigeria Law school is said to have one of the highest number of senior advocates with 42 members now Senior Advocates of Nigeria.


 Some of the other honourees at the event are:-

1)Immediate past director ,Lagos state multi door courthouse, Adeyinka Aroweyun.

2) Chief Olakunle Uthman esq

3) Hajia Binta Bello-Ismaila

4) Lady Emily Nnene Herbert and others.
