Transport Union chairman facilitates 1.7 km road for rehabilitation in Amuwo Odofin.
The chairman of the defunct National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Amuwo Odofin Branch C' Prince Ajele Abeyi Abayomi, also known as Ikomodina has facilitated 1.7 km road for rehabilitation in Mile 2, area of Amuwo Odofin local government.
The road project was awarded by Grimaldil PTML shipping company to Monterosa construction limited.
The full stretch of Mile 2 Road rehabilitation upon completion, will link Otto Wharf, Berger Suy, Kirikiri, Tin-Can, Apapa corridors and also provide easy access to avoid motorists taking one way which against the traffic rules in Lagos state.
It will be recalled that the branch chairman, paid a courtesy visit to the Grimaldil PTML and spoke on the deplorable state of the road and urged multinational shipping company to consider it done for the community and commuters to ply the alternative route.
In his response , the Managing Director, Grimaldil PTML Terminal, Lagos, Nigeria, Ascanio Russo assured the LASPGM chairman, Amuwo Odofin branch C' the project will be executed in earnest as part of corporate social responsibility.
The Monterosa construction limited, which handles Grimaldi PTML infrastructure activities, commenced Mile 2 alternative route, Lagos/Badagry expressway.
The project manager, monterosa construction limited Mr. Ryad Nassar inspected the commencement of project and gave assurance that the road rehabilitation will be completed in due course.
