His death was announced by the state government in a press release by the Chief press Secretary to the governor,Yinka Oyebode ..

" The Government of Ekiti State regrets to announce the death of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Funminiyi Afuye.   Rt. Hon Afuye died Wednesday evening at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Ado- Ekiti, where he was receiving treatment after suffering a cardiac arrest.  The late Afuye, 66, was a former Commissioner, Ekiti State  Ministry of Information and two- time member of the State Assembly. He was inaugurated Speaker of the sixth Assembly on June 6, 2019"..

Despite Valid Court Order, Lagos Police Fails To Commit Lagos Businessman,Dada Aigbe To Prison

The Lagos State Police Command appear to have compromised the order of the court which sentence a businessman Mr Dada Aigbe, to Kirikiri Correctional Facility for disobeying a lawful court order over interfering in a land matter over which he is not a party. A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja committed the Chairman of Confidence Cargo, Freight Forwarder, Mr Aigbe, to Kirikiri for one month or until he purges himself of the contempt of the court and files an affidavit to henceforth not disobeys any court order.   The land dispute is between HRM, Oba Shakirudeen Adeshina Kuti, the complainants and Osolo of Isolo, HRM, Oba Agbabiaka Kabiru Orisedeko Kuti and the Baale of Mafoluku, Ajao Estate; Chief Hussam Raheem Shekoni Elemo, as defendants before Justice M.A Savage.
