Former Speaker of the Lagos state house of Assembly, Rt Honourable Abdulwaheed Jokotola Pelumi in a press statement on the demise of the ambassador, commended him for his service to his father's land
In his words "Demola was a good pally from our Lagos Island childhood days_/Growing up together in the same neighborhood was a blast(I reminisce)_/So so sad...."
The former speaker commiserated with the Governor of Lagos state ,Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu as well as the president of the federal republic of Nigeria and the ruling Party APC over the unfortunate death of the Ambassador.
Rt Hon Pelumi equally used the opportunity to pray to God to grant the wife,children and family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss the of the socialite cum politician
In his words " the death of Ambassador Seriki came to me as a rude shock. For those who knew him,he was a perfect gentleman,a loyal and dependable friend who gave all he had to the service of his father's land , firstly as minister of the federal republic and later as an Ambassador,a post he held till he breathed his last. Lagos will miss him and the federal government will also miss his valuable contribution to national development. I pray to Almighty God to grant Demola Seriki eternal rest,forgive him his sins and grant the family the fortitude to bear this great loss. Adieu Demola", he concluded
