The City People Magazine at her 2023 Annual City People Awards for Excellence today in Lagos honoured the Chairman, House Committee on Information Strategy and Security in Lagos Hon (Otunba) Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode popularly known as Omoj'omolo with the likes of Ekiti Governor; Biodun Oyebanji, broadcast guru; Prince Bisi Olatiko of Biscon Communications, the popular motivational speaker and comedian; Dr Helen Paul PhD and several others.  Ogundipe who is representing the people of Oshodi-Isolo constituency-1 at the Lagos State House of Assembly was honored as the Politician of the Year. 



The publisher of the magazine Prince Seye Kehinde in his welcome address thanked everyone for gracing the occasion and he described the event as the face of the organization and the selection process of the awardees has always been meticulously done over the years.


In his citation at the Award night, Ogundipe was described as a smart, intelligent and thorough politician with the ways and manner he carries out his duties as the official spokesperson of the state Assembly in the center of excellence. Ogundipe came at a time floodgates of petitions come to the Assembly virtually on daily basis and he has been using his political experience over the years, his professional background as Human Resources expert to interface with the aggrieved and agitated Lagosians on so many petitions and matters which is majorly under his purview. 



Ogundipe in his response thanked the management team of the publishing house for counting him worthy of this year award. He said he accepted the offer when the letter of his nominations was delivered to him because the City People Magazine is like a golden fish that has no hidden place. It is a reputable organization with international recognition. He however dedicated the award firstly to God Almighty for preservation of life and to his leader and legislative mentor Rt Hon (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly who identified and appointed him into such a sensitive position of the House spokesperson even as a first timer. 


In his words "the on the job experience and the Speaker's guidance and advice have helped me tremendously in discharging my duties. All these have exposed me both locally and internationally in my short and memorable stay in the House so far." Ogundipe concluded.



The event was chaired by Mr Ife Oyedele while Evangelist Obey Fabiyi was the Special Guest. Many dignitaries at the night are Royal fathers, business magnates, media gurus and many important personalities.

LASTMA ARRAIGNS 12 OFFICERS BEFORE DISCIPLINARY PANEL FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES BOTHERING ON CORRUPT PRACTICES, ABSENTEEISM

  .........11 Officers indicted as panel final reports recommended dismissal, reduction in rank, compulsory retirement for Officers Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday,  arraigned 12 Officers before Disciplinary Panel for various Offenses bothering on corrupt practices and absenteeism in line with the extant rules as guided by the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Acting General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the disciplinary panel which was statutorily constituted with three (3) Permanent Secretaries in attendance adjudicated cases of corrupt practices levied against these 12 Officers and forwarded their recommendations to the State Civil Service Commission for ratification in line with the Public Service Rules. LASTMA GETS NEW GENERAL MANAGER.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). A statement by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation Mr. Olawale Musa noted that the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads. Bakare-Oki Olalekan joined the Lagos State Public Service on the April 25, 2000 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, before his new appointment as General Manager.
