Akinsanya Pledges More Support For Nigerian Immigration Service
 

The Controller Nigerian Immigration Service Lagos command on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman Igando ikotun Lcda Comrade Akinsanya Lasisi Ayinde in his office in Ikotun, Lagos. 

Comptroller Bala Aliyu DANGANA said during the visit that they came to thank the Council chairman for all the support he has given to the service in the local government.

If we are able to solve the problem of passport processing in Lagos, we would have solved 50 percent of all passport issues in Nigeria. “We have decided to open more offices in Lagos to accommodate more peo- ple. We plan to open more immigration centers in Lagos. All passport applications is now online process to eradicate corruption and Fast processes of Passport. 

 “One of our mandates is to eradicate human trafficking, irregular and unsafe migration that are prevalent among our youths as a result of the desire to seek greener pastures abroad.

Many foreigners enter Lagos on a daily basis without proper documentation. This is one of our responsibilities and we must tackle it.” He said. 

Akinsanya thanked the Comptroller Lagos State command and his  management team for the visit. He said, “the immigration service is the hospitality checkpoint of the nation and the gatekeepers and we are prepared to support the service in every way we can.” We will continue to support you all the way,” he said.

LASTMA ARRAIGNS 12 OFFICERS BEFORE DISCIPLINARY PANEL FOR VARIOUS OFFENSES BOTHERING ON CORRUPT PRACTICES, ABSENTEEISM

  .........11 Officers indicted as panel final reports recommended dismissal, reduction in rank, compulsory retirement for Officers Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Thursday,  arraigned 12 Officers before Disciplinary Panel for various Offenses bothering on corrupt practices and absenteeism in line with the extant rules as guided by the Lagos State Civil Service Rules and Regulations. The Acting General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki Olalekan disclosed that the disciplinary panel which was statutorily constituted with three (3) Permanent Secretaries in attendance adjudicated cases of corrupt practices levied against these 12 Officers and forwarded their recommendations to the State Civil Service Commission for ratification in line with the Public Service Rules. LASTMA GETS NEW GENERAL MANAGER.

    Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA). A statement by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Transportation Mr. Olawale Musa noted that the appointment of Mr. Bakare-Oki Olalekan is for better performance, eradicating incidences of misdemeanors among staffs and continued efficient/effective traffic management on Lagos roads. Bakare-Oki Olalekan joined the Lagos State Public Service on the April 25, 2000 and rose through the ranks over the years to the post of Deputy Director, Logistics and Engineering Department of LASTMA, before his new appointment as General Manager.
