Media Office Calls for Professional Conduct and Urgent Intervention by the Police High Command
The Media Office of Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, Governorship Candidate, has been reliably informed of the continued presence of security operatives at GreenHills Hotel and Hospitality Services in Ikere Ekiti, a facility associated with our principal.
The restriction currently placed on the premises has raised significant concern among residents, staff, and supporters, with the potential to create unnecessary tension within the community.
In a statement made available to newsmen by his Special Assistant on Media, Gani Salau, the Media Office disclosed that more troubling reports have reached it alleging that the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police contacted Mrs. Olukemi Oluyede, wife of Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, in a manner perceived as threatening, allegedly aimed at compelling compliance under unclear circumstances.
If confirmed, such conduct would raise serious concerns regarding professionalism and the expected neutrality of security agencies.
We wish to reiterate that the Nigeria Police Force is constitutionally mandated to operate within the bounds of the law, uphold the rights of citizens, and remain strictly non-partisan, particularly during a sensitive political period.
In light of these developments, we call on the Office of the Inspector-General of Police to urgently investigate these allegations, ensure accountability where necessary, and guarantee that policing in Ekiti State is guided by due process, fairness, and professionalism.
At this critical juncture in Ekiti State’s political calendar, any action perceived as intimidation or undue influence risks undermining public confidence and democratic integrity.
We urge all supporters and members of the public to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding as we continue to monitor the situation closely.
