Motorists in Lagos driving vehicles with covered, obscured, defaced, unauthorised or no registration number plates risk having their vehicles impounded as the Lagos State Police Command begins a statewide enforcement exercise from Monday, June 15, 2026. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adebisi Abimbola, the operation is aimed at enhancing public safety, strengthening security and preventing criminals from concealing their identities while carrying out unlawful activities. “This enforcement exercise is not intended to inconvenience law-abiding motorists. Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to hand over the former Minister for Power, Saleh Mamman to the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Kuje, Abuja for the commencement of his 75 years prison term.
